Vermillion Cliffs, Arizona
First light hits the Toadstools in the Vermillion Cliffs wilderness. This rock formation known as a "hoodoo" is the result of a harder cap of rock protecting a softer, easily erodable base. This phenonmenon is best recognized in Bryce Canyon, but is seen throughout the southwest.
