Ranked as the #1 most dangerous volcano in the U.S. because of its eruption potential and proximity to large population centers, Mt. Rainier is indeed a sleeping giant. One day, perhaps not long from now, Rainier will erupt as it has many times in the past and dramatically alter the pristine landscape visible here.
