The Feather

Ruby Beach, Olympic National Park

This pristine seagull feather landed on this northwest beach shortly before I stumbled upon it while searching for a good location to photograph the sunset. Instead of pointing my camera at the sun, I pointed down and captured one of my favorite images: a delicate feather resting on wind sculptured sand and illuminated by the magic light of a setting sun.
