This bear was particularly talented at catching salmon the lazy way, that is, waiting for them to jump into his mouth. This bear is perched upstream of Brooks Falls in southwestern Alaska. Other bears in the area have learned different fishing techniques including diving, snorkling, pouncing and, the old standby, stealing fish from smaller bears.
