Whitney & Moon

Lone Pine, California

While eating breakfast in Lone Pine, near Mt. Whitney, I noticed the moon was setting in a trajectory placing it near the summit of the peak. I drove off at high speed toward the Whitney Portal, slammed on the brakes along the road, set up my tripod in record time, and got perhaps 3 shots before the moon dipped behind the peak.
